Easter exhibition at Jazztabé

This Easter weekend Bruno will once again be exhibiting at the piano bar Jazztabé in Palau Sabadera, it will be a chance to see a few new paintings and sculptures including some of the work which was on show in Madrid but has never been seen here. As always there will be live music on the Friday night this time from Two cats Rag time and boogie, and on Saturday night from the Jazztandars with Jaume Ambros on piano, always a treat.

Out in the garden Bruno will be showing a life size wooden bull, big enough to climb inside! So come and see him there and enjoy and evening of culture in Catalonia.

A busy summer for 2012

This is going to be a busy summer for Bruno. On the 11th of July he will take part in a Stone symposium in Meunet, Cantal, France. He will have 1m cubed of a moderately hard stone which will be carved mainly by hand in view of the public.

Then teaching afour day stone carving workshop at Les Lapidiales in Port D´Envaux 24th July. If you are interested in doing this course please speak to Alan contact@lapidiales.org or visit http://lapidiales.org/ Bruno can teach in French or English ( well as doing this week long stone carving class he is also available to take groups in other locations.)

After leaving Charante Maritime he will move on to a wood symposium in Thyon, (Switzerland) from the 6th to the 11th August. He will be working in larch wood 2m high and 0.80 m diameter.

Finally he will come back through France and stop in Surgeres on the 14th August to carve live and direct in an open exhibition where all of the pieces will be for sale.

Other symposiums are pending and this page will be updated as and when we receive the acceptances.

Ruta de l´Art 2011

This years art route around the village of Castelló d´Empurias in Northern Catalonia was a great success! There were 78 artists exhibiting in 20 spaces all around the medieval village. Bruno was in the center of the main square sharing a space with the British artist N. Staniforth (www.sirrensculpture.com) and painter Jose Cabello Ruiz. The weather was perfect and visitors plentiful and the level of the art was high as always. Big thank you to Castelló council and Anna Maria Constanseu for all their hard work.

Expo in Madrid

Bruno is busy working on new pieces for his upcoming exhibition in Madrid later this month. The exhibition is part of a scheme by the artist, radio presenter and activist Guillem Farias. He has spent the last two years finding seven places in Madrid for artists from the Emporda to exhibit it. All of the sites are special in terms of the clientele they attract and their situation and architectural interest. Over the next year there will be six exhibitions including artists such as David Anson, Tomás Pons, Adriá Ciurana, Natalie Staniforth, Narsis Costa and of course Guillem himself.

Bruno´s work will be shown for the next two months, (8th July- 8th September) in the internationally renowned hair salon “Juan. por Dios!” It is an enormous space with five meter high ceilings and huge wooden support beams. Bruno has made chosen three large scale sculptures in wood, (one made specially for this site) and three new painting to go to Madrid.

CRAC Creació Roses Art Contemporani

On Friday 29th April we inaugurated CRAC an exhibition of local talented artists, both well known and less so and Bruno was honored to be amongst them. We had a good turn out for the first night, including Ferran Adria of the famous restaurant El Bulli and of course our lady mayoress Magda who had a big hand in promoting the event. But mainly big thanks go to Toni Martinez and Juanjo Viñuela who organized it all. Here are the pieces Bruno was exhibiting. If you are in the area do visit the show their are some great pieces from some fantastic artists.

Exhibition in Palafrugell 26th Feb 2011

This coming weekend is the start of an exhibition of new work by Bruno. The space belongs to the company Technope, and they have invited Bruno to show his work in their studio space for a month. Inauguration is at 6pm on 26th February, come along and enjoy a cup of Cava with friends and see some wonderful new paintings made especially for this show.

Bruno is busy sharpening his chisels for this years ice festival in London. He and Charles Fils Jean will be there from the 13th with chainsaws and thick gloves. we better pray for a cold snap so that they have the best chance possible to create something wonderful and take home the trophy.

The ice carving comp has changed a little this year, on the 13th we are having a singles carving competition with the theme of pedal power. 15th and half of 16th is the team comp “Love London”. More information on the official site here: http://www.londonicesculptingfestival.co.uk“>

Ruta D´Art 2010

This years Ruta d´Art in Castelló d´Empurias was made more dramatic by downpours, flood warnings and roads resembling rivers all around the region. Undeterred we braved the elements for an inspiring exhibition. There were 72 artists in 21 buildings, all of some architectural or historical importance. Bruno was exhibiting in Palau Macel·li along with Natalie Staniforth and Juanjo Viñuela. This building was a hostel for the knights who protected the Cathdral and is now a hotel and restaurant. Amongst the artists showing were some famous names, and some names who surely will be one day! We were very happy to exhibit alongside Narcis Costa who recently put his landmark sculpture on to the sea front in Roses.
